So why does Chester Link work and what are it’s aims is a question we’re asked a lot.

Chester Link was set up by families of disabled people and is unique in the way that the charity supports both the tenants and their families during the move towards independence. Tenant families are well represented on the board of trustees, and together with professionals ensure that the charity’s ethos is reflected in all the decisions made at a strategic level.

Tenants themselves are encouraged to make choices about their homes, their lives and their individual outcomes, supported by their staff team.

Chester Link strives for continuous improvement and plans to develop the service around the individual needs and aspirations of the current and future tenants, as their needs change due to older age and disability. Chester Link will adapt and develop the service to ensure that tenants can be supported for their whole life, if this is what they choose.
